Sensory Garden

Donate to our garden

Located in the heart of our school campus, the new sensory garden, has been designed as a rich source of stimulation for the children of Potters Gate.
The sensory garden is now complete! However, the lovely garden requires continued maintenance meaning there is still time to contribute.

All donors will have their name featured below to say thank you for your support.

Donations of £50 or more will have a plaque in their name placed in the garden!

The Friends of Potters Gate would like to say a special thank you to Victoria Bailey Gardens and Jonathan Todd Garden Design for their vision and hard work to get the long anticipated sensory garden to become a reality. Also to the Farnham Round Table for their generous donation.

Plants, hard landscaping and other garden materials will engage our children’s sense of touch, taste, sight, sound and smell. This type of garden not only allows the kids to connect to nature, but encourages them to become more aware of their surroundings and their response to them. Studies show that the more sensory experiences a child has, the more they engage their brain, giving our children many opportunities to connect their senses, explore possibilities and develop crucial cognitive skills like memory, reasoning and problem-solving.

Our sensory garden is a crucial tool for the children of Potters Gate, in line with our Forest School ethos we aim to promote the holistic development of all those involved, fostering resilient, confident, independent and creative learners - because we believe not all classrooms have four walls.
